A Day to Remember

Memorial Day, a day to remember all those who gave their lives in defense of our great nation.  I know I take that for granted.  I don't think too often about those who died and those who grieve because of a loved one that died.  Take some time today to reflect on those heroes of our history.  Enjoy time with family recognizing that many don't have their whole family with them because of a loss in a foreign country or a loss in training.

Many of the men in my family served in the military but no one in my immediate family was killed in the line of duty.

Almost all killed in the military were young, just starting their adult lives.  That perhaps makes the pain even more intense.

Be thankful for this day and for every day you have as a gift from
God.  Any pain and hardship you have can drag you down for a time.  But as you get through the pain you will be stronger.  You will be able to encourage others in their hard times.  And you will be more thankful for the days you have with those that love you.

Moving forward,
