Skeptical ??

I get all sorts of questions all day.  Recently a lady text me and asked "what are you REALLY selling and what can I expect to get???

Well, thanks for asking.

Brooke Training is a legit deal...but it is not easy. You can expect to get a viable business with the potential to make a lot of money, so long as you work the process.  You own the business.  We promise to support you in many ways.

In order to be a success at freight brokering you have to build relationships with traffic managers of large and midsized corporations. We will teach you how to find them.  You also have to build solid relationships with truck drivers.  We will coach you on how to communicate with them.  As a freight broker or freight broker agent, you are the middle man between those two groups.  We teach you negotiating skills.

It won't cost you much or take long to get started as an agent.

Some of my friends are millionaires because they found their niche in this business.  We will teach you how to find a niche.

The great news is that it is your business.  You will be 100 percent responsible for your success.  We will give you a real life proven road map to follow.  We will introduce you to industry leaders.  Then it is up to you to put the newly learned skills to work.

All our instructors, including me, return phone calls.

If you have more questions, call or text.  I have been in this industry for over 3 decades and I've learned a few things along the way.

Moving forward,

Jeff Roach

New Year New Career

Do you liked working from home?  Would you like to continue to work from home but looking for a new opportunity?

In a few weeks you can be on your way to a brand new future, as a freight broker, freight broker agent or logistics coordinator in the transportation industry.

Brooke training has a live remote class that has been extremely popular during the pandemic.    Live in- person classes are great, but of course take more some travel.   With our live remote classes you still get the benefit of an instructor to answer all your  questions, but all from the comfort of your own home.  We have scores of testimonials from our students all along the way in their course.  The basic course is one week, followed up by a week long advanced class.

Our instructors walk you through a process to become successful as a freight broker or a freight broker agent.  The transportation industry is an exciting, fast paced industry with the potential for big income for anyone who wants to learn the industry.

As we reach herd immunity, there is going to be more commerce than ever, more freight moving across the country and more opportunity for freight brokers to cash in.  The transportation industry has never been better.  Logistics professionals are in high demand.  The need for logistics professionals will only increase as our economy revs back up.  At the same time, most professionals have gotten used to working at home and they want to continue to work from home.  At Brooke Training we have, in my opinion, the best fast track training to get people working from home.  It is not a get rich quick deal but a truely the sky is the limit,  if the graduate puts in the work.

Give me a call if this interests you at all.  No pressure, I will talk with you about your skills, your goals and  encourage you to find a great future.

Gifting Season

I am incredibly blessed with so many gifts.  I have been given so much grace in my life. I have an amazing wife, she has given me grace when I certainly didn't deserve it...but I guess that is what grace is: "unearned favor".  I have 3 stunning daughters, 3 fabulous granddaughters, a couple of super sons in-law and a miracle baby grand daughter on the way.  My life is full and for that I am thankful.

I absolutely love the business God has so graciously afforded me.  I get to work from my lakeside home with a gorgeous view of nature.  I have the opportunity to get to know so many gifted people from all walks of life that choose to come to our school.  In the process I spend most of my hours of every day hearing the life stories of these individuals.  And they have some fascinating stories.  Many veterans come through our school to learn a new trade.  I am intrigued by their resilience in learning a new way of life after the military.  I'm thrilled to hear of their success down the road.

Take time this holiday season to thank those who love you well.  Thank those who challenge you.  And thank the Creator of all good gifts.

At this time of year we celebrate the birth of My Messiah, Jesus Christ.

No matter your beliefs, this is a glorious season with thrilling sights, sounds and foods.  Enjoy, be thankful and respectful of each other.  It may be a hard season for some, so be filled with compassion.  Every day is a gift, unwrap today and anticipate the gift of tomorrow.

Happy Holidays

Freight Broker Freedom

As we celebrate the birth of our nation, take time to reflect on all the freedoms you have because of the sacrifices of the generations before us.  We are a young nation compared to others yet we are blessed with a great economy, great friends, family and food.  It is easy to focus on what we want instead of what we already have.  An attitude of gratitude is contagious.  Be thankful and others around you will start to count their blessings as well.

One of the freedoms in our society is the freedom to be your own boss.  A freight broker is their own boss whether you work as an agent of another freight broker or you start your own brokerage. I have done both.  I have enjoyed incredible success and now I am privileged to teach others how to enjoy this fast paced, rewarding career.

There are processes I teach that help a new broker find success.  I can't guarantee success because success is dependent on the effort of the individual.  Like the fireworks pictured, we are all unique and the light we shine sparks in its own creative way.  Find your spark and work the process and you too can find success.

Two for One Training

Every day on the news I hear great signals for economic prosperity on the horizon.  The Dow Jones just hit an all time high.  Regardless of your political views, the macro picture for the transportation industry has never been better.

We hear that new construction of manufacturing plants is in the works.
US companies are trading at all time highs on the stock exchange, which means more capitol investments.

USA is investing in infrastructure improvements including the building of more pipelines, highways and tunnels.  We are even going to build a Wall I have heard although I don’t think Mexico is too happy with that idea.

There is a reason why all the transport companies are hiring. We have never ever had a better environment for freight transport specialist and those companies who arrange transportation services for profit (freight brokers).  I can’t think of a better time to be in this industry in my 30 year career in the freight industry.

In anticipation of this economic opportunity, Brooke Transportation Training Solutions is offering a

2 for 1 special
through the end of February 2017.

So come to training, bring your spouse, your business partner or a friend.  Both of you will get trained for the price of one.  You can take the class whenever it fits in your schedule.  Sign up before the end of February to get the 2 for 1 special.

This is your chance to get a great head start in your career as an agent or broker.

Freight Broker Graduates

We recently finished a basic freight broker training course one week, followed up by a freight broker advanced course the next week.  The group of professionals who came to learn freight brokering was exceptional.  One student loved the detailed info, one learned to get more freight for his oil industry trucks, one had tried to learn it all on his own then came to Brooke and now has direction, and another appreciated the skills learned for cold calling.  Our classes are filled with a variety of people from various backgrounds.  Every class is unique and enjoyable for our instructors. Thanks for these comments on your time in the course:

"I attended Brooke Transportation for (freight broker/agent) training.  I greatly appreciated the detailed information about agent (agency/) brokering. I think that the information provided is needed for this industry. After the first week of school, I feel motivated to move forward in this industry. The instructors provided as much info as they could possibly (provide).  All of my questions were answered and I feel confident that I have a good foundation set to start step by step, moving forward. I would recommend anyone with experience in the industry understand that taking this class is great basic knowledge needed to run a tight, organized business to be successful.

Today I feel that I will start as an agent and set goals to later become a broker."  -C. Parker

"(I) did months of free deep research and still couldn't find direction in (the) freight broker business. Now I know. The school was very helpful and saved me more money in which I would've invested and lots of time. Also, good networking and contacts provided. Thanks BTT"
-C. Martinez

"My name is Esau Garcia, I am from Glenwood Springs, Colorado. I took this class because I work in the oil field (industry) and work has been super slow. I really enjoyed this class. I felt a lot more confident as far as getting more work for our trucks. They also brought a guy in...Bryan Flanagan. He was very motivational.  I'm super excited for what is ahead." -
E. Garcia (Basic and Advanced Training)

"All of the instructors were open to all questions without any talk down. I am leaving with a great understanding of freight brokering." -
H. Arnold

"I really enjoyed the class. I came in only knowing about the truckers' end. I have clear knowledge now on (how) the broker side runs. I really enjoyed the cold call examples." -
Litzia M.

"I really enjoyed how passionate the instructors are. They give you all (of the) information and even bring in a tech support instructor for recommendations on your purchases. They really cover all bases, laws, and are extremely friendly and patient with all questions."
- Roger V.

"...There was so much information given to us. All of the teachers were so supportive, they all gave us their contact info for if we ever need any help....willing to help until we absolutely get everything. This class was very beneficial and I do recommend it to anyone!"
- Elizabeth G. (Basic and Advanced Training)

Should I go to Freight Broker Training?

Since I have a freight broker training school of course I will say, yes go through freight broker training school.  But I truly don't say that just because I have a school and want your money-LOL.   I say that because I have watched both those who start their freight brokerage without training and those who have been through training.  I've seen both succeed and I've seen both fail.  You can get the best training yet not work hard enough or smart enough to land the accounts that will grow over time.  You can go in untrained and figure it out on your own.  But how many careers can you launch successfully without some education?

One thing I know for sure, when you start your freight brokerage without training your road to success will be longer.  Many of our graduates said they wish they had not waited to get training.  At Brooke Transportation Training Solutions we teach a process.  We share valuable resources and techniques.  We make sure our students understand how to use the technologies available to the best of their ability.

All of our instructors are in the transportation business or have spent years in the business and now are giving back by training others.  Their wealth of knowledge, wisdom and insight is invaluable.  I am a strong believer in continuing education.  I know the value of having mentors in business and in life.  My mentors have steered me away from many cliffs that could have been devastating.

If you are thinking about starting a career as a freight broker or freight broker agent, give me a call.  I won't pressure you I'll just tell you my story and ask about yours.  I take many calls from freight brokers who just need a little advise or encouragement.  They may or may not come to my school in the future.  But I believe you get what you give.  If I am stingy with my time others won't give me the time of day.  If I give some help then when I need help there will be someone there to help me.

We only have one chance to make the most of today.  Enjoy.

New Freight brokers Trained

We finished up a live class in California.  As always, our instructor, Brad Lingo did an excellent job.  Here are the words from one of his graduates:

"This class is very informative.  I learned much from a truckers perspective and a broker.  Without the training from Brooke, I don’t believe I could have learned about this industry as quick as I did.  Thank you for this program it was worth the money.

I loved the interaction that took place in this class.  It always helps to role-play to build confidence.  Thank you, Brad.  I’ll call you when I make my first $100,000.00. " --Tyrone Mills

Now is a great time to be trained to be a freight broker.  I got an email today from 6 companies looking to hire freight broker agents.  I'm confident that Tyrone will do well as a freight broker and will be calling Brad soon to say he made his first big wad of cash.

We find training other for this career very rewarding.   I know there are other schools but I am confidant there are not other schools with instructors who have more knowledge, integrity and inspiration as our group.  We would love to have the opportunity to prepare you for a rewarding career as a freight broker or freight broker agent.  Give me a call.  214-206-1169

What's a Freight Broker??

A freight broker is the guy in the transportation world who matches loads with transporters, goods with carriers, stuff with truckers...  A freight broker is a very important job in the transportation industry.  He/she is a middle man, but in a good way.  I think conventional wisdom thinks if we cut out the middle man we can earn more money.  That may be true in some industries but in the transportation industry the freight broker actually helps a lot with efficiency in the industry.

For example say there is a truck full of lettuce bound across the country to deliver the veggies to an area of the country who can't produce their own lettuce.  The carrier may not have a load to take back across the country.  If he rides empty that's a wasted trip.  That trucking company will often use a freight broker to find a load for the return trip.

Freight brokers become very familiar with the lanes (or route) their carriers take regularly.  They are  very knowledgeable about the specific kinds of merchandise they move, the paperwork needed and the type of truck needed for that particular load.  Their knowledge is very helpful to them and their clients.

Individual freight brokers can work independently or as an agent of a larger freight brokerage.  The relationship is similar to that of a insurance agent or a realtor and the larger company they work under.

I have been in the transportation industry since I graduated college 30 or so years ago.  In that time I've worked in most all capacities in the industry, but mostly I've been a freight broker.  I started my own freight brokerage out of my garage.  I found great success, great customers and great business associates.  I started my freight broker training school to pass along some of the things I have learned along the way.  I now am privileged to meet some amazing professionals destined to do great things as freight brokers and freight broker agents.

Top 3 Ways to Beat the Competition

Shari Waters shares some simple but brilliant ways to stay ahead in this tight economy environment.  She writes to retailers but the ideas are effective for the transportation industry as well. I edited this a bit

Top 3 Ways to Beat the Competition

By Shari Waters, About.com

It's inevitable that your business will have some form of competition. And while you can't control what your competitors do, you can minimize their impact on your business. Here are three ways to rise above the competition.

1. Reduce Expenses, Not Advertising
Take a look at your Profit and Loss statement, or itemize all of your expenses, and ask yourself how each line can be eliminated or reduced. Find out where you can cut back. A little here and a little there will soon add up. However, the one expense you do NOT want to reduce is advertising. In fact, many increase their marketing efforts during slower sales periods because there is more competition for fewer dollars.

2. Get Creative
Get creative and use unconventional marketing methods to distinguish your business from the competition. A unique marketing campaign attracts more attention and lands more sales. Also, look for some new untapped market you and your competitors overlooked. You may uncover a niche market you can dominate with little or no competition.

3. Provide Outstanding Customer Service
By going the extra mile to provide good service, outlast the competition. Make dealing with your company a memorable experience. People like to do business with those they feel comfortable and where they feel the owner truly cares about their wants and needs.

In our training course for freight brokers we teach how to build a freight brokerage and we give our students lots of inspiration.  A key element to success is staying encouraged.  I talk with professionals everyday looking for encouragement.  We are only a phone call away for any graduate who needs encouragement along the way.

BOGO Freight Broker Training

BOGO= Buy one, get one.  Buy one tuition get one for free.   Join us for our live Freight Broker Training Course and bring another for free.  Bring a friend, a spouse or a business partner and you can double your learning.

Often freight brokering is a family business so getting two trained for the price of one is a great deal.  We will often have a husband and wife train along side each other.  Each benefits and each comes away with a different piece of knowledge.  Since our brains all intake information differently, we retain different bits.  Have you ever gone to the doctor with a friend of spouse?  As you discuss the appointment on the way home each heard different stuff--am I right?

So come to our training to learn how to be a prosperous freight broker, but don't come alone.  Learning is more fun and more efficient with a buddy.

My wife and I work together.  We see things very differently.  That can be challenging but it is also eye opening.  She sees things that need to be seen that I don't notice.  And vice versa.  Call us to sign up or just to ask questions. 214-206-1169
